Nick Dittrich – Large Artworks

I consider the canvas to be a part of the artwork, so I often stitch it together, cut or rip it… or by inserting objects through the surface I create an additional dimension to the artwork.

‘Disintegration of Worth’
(51 x 76.5cm) box canvas

Collage – shredded purchase receipts

£2,000

“A commentary on consumerism and technology in the shape of the artist’s thumbprint, recreated with shredded purchase receipts.

The receipt itself is created using thermal printing and should last about 7 years, so will the artwork itself slowly fade away after this time, therefore reflecting the impermanence of not only my purchases but also of their worth?”
